The Toniebox solves the screen-time argument by removing the screen. A child places a character figure on the fabric-covered cube and the matching story or album plays; lift it off and it stops, remembering where it paused.

Volume is set by squeezing the ears, skipping tracks by tipping the box, and the whole thing is designed to be dropped. The starter set includes the box and a Tonie to begin with, and the library of characters is enormous.
